Setting Up Your E-Mai l Identities in Outlook Express  
1. Double-click the “Outlook Express” icon to start the program.
2. Click on “File” and then on “Identities”. A slide menu now appears to the right side.  Click on “Add New Identity”.
3. On the next screen, type in your full name and click on “OK”.
4. It then asks if you would like to switch to this new account now.  Respond “Yes”.  It now launches the Internet Connection Wizard for Setting up Internet Mail.
5. Select “Create New Internet Mail Account” and click “Next”.
6. For “Display Name”, again type in your full name, as it should appear to others.  Click on “Next”.
7. On the next screen, it asks for your Internet Mail Address.  Keep the selection as “I already have an e-mail address I’d like to use” and type that address in the white box below.  Then click “Next”.  
8. The next screen asks for the incoming and outgoing mail server information.  
The incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
The address for both the incoming and outgoing mail servers is: mail.familysmart.net.  
Enter the same address for both.  Click “Next”.
9. The next screen sets up your Internet Mail Logon.  
Here it asks you to supply your password.  Type your e-mail password here. 
You may choose to have Outlook Express “remember” your password so you will never have to type it in.
10. Click on “Next” and then on “Finish”. 

 

Setting Up Your Automatic Dialer to Dial ACTLink/FamilySmart
1. Right-click on the ACTLink/FamilSmart icon or double-click on the IE icon.
2. Click on the “Properties” option.
3. Next to the “Phone Number” box, click  “Phone Number Button”.
4. Set the “Service Type” to “Modem”.
5. From the “State or Province” menu, select the area you live in.
6. Select the access number closest to you from that list.
7. Click “OK” to accept your choice.
8. Repeat this process for a backup number.
9. Click “Dialing Rules” and enter any necessary data.

In the “Dialing From Here” section, you may need to change the following:

To access an outside line (If your office uses a special code to get an outside line, enter it here.)

To disable Call Waiting dial (select the appropriate option, usually *70)

11. “Connect Using” should show your modem description. 
Select your modem from the pull-down menu if it doesn’t. Click on “OK”.
12. Click on “Connect” to test your dial-out capability.
13. Congratulations!  You’re done!
